Beta Testing & Registration Privacy Notice

Effective date:

This notice supplements the Privacy Policy and applies only when you apply for beta access or participate in TestFlight testing. “We” means the developers of Platterday.

Submitting a beta registration does not itself start TestFlight crash-log or app-usage collection. If you are selected and invited, we provide invitation details to Apple as described below. TestFlight crash-log and app-usage collection applies when you participate in testing.

Applying for beta access

The registration form is a website feature, not part of the app, and does not receive recipe, plan or grocery contents from the app.

The optional beta registration form at platterday.com/beta/ is a website feature. It is not part of the app and does not create a Platterday account. If you submit it, we receive the preferred first name and email address you enter, your confirmation that you are based in the United States, your device model and iOS or iPadOS version, whether you are willing to give feedback, and your beta-risk acknowledgement. We use these details only to assess eligibility, decide whether to invite you, contact you about beta participation and protect the form from abuse. We do not use them for advertising or marketing, and we do not sell them. Access to registrations is restricted to authorized Platterday operators. Our provider processes them to provide the services described below. The public form accepts submissions only and does not provide access to read, list or look up registrations. Being based in the United States is an eligibility check, not a promise that information is stored only in the United States. Submitting does not guarantee an invitation. If we invite you, we enter your invitation details into Apple’s TestFlight tools; those records are separate from the registration database and are described under Testing through TestFlight.

Our provider’s security check processes technical browser and network information under the Turnstile Privacy Addendum and provider’s Privacy Policy. Our provider states that this security check does not access, store or transmit form entries. We receive the entries you submit separately to assess and coordinate beta participation; we do not send your form answers to the security-check verification service. Network and request information, including IP addresses, may be processed as described under Visits to this website. Our application does not log form entries, email addresses, IP addresses or security-check tokens. This does not eliminate provider-controlled request or security logging. Website analytics remains disabled, and the registration page has no advertising or analytics scripts. We do not routinely export registrations or back them up to other services. Any necessary temporary private copy follows the same registration expiry.

Registration expiry and deletion

A registration expires 90 days after its first successful submission. A duplicate submission with the same email address while the registration is current does not extend that period or replace its answers; email us to correct a detail. Expired registrations are excluded from the review list and deleted by an hourly cleanup, usually within about an hour after expiry. A delayed or failed cleanup can make deletion later. To withdraw sooner or ask us to delete your registration, email support@platterday.com from the address you submitted. We use proportionate verification, such as confirming by reply from that address, and do not ask for ID scans or credentials. After verification, we delete the registration and any copies we control without waiting for the normal expiry. We do not retain a permanent list or hash of deleted registration email addresses, so a fresh submission after expiry or deletion is a new registration.

Deleting a registration from the live database does not immediately remove recovery history or every provider-controlled record. Our provider maintains database recovery history for a limited period, during which deleted registrations may remain recoverable. Before using a restored registration database, we repeat expiry cleanup and reapply verified deletion requests; if we cannot reliably do that, we do not restore it for use. The provider may also retain request and security logs under its own practices. We cannot promise that a registration deletion removes every provider-controlled backup or log. Emails about registration and privacy requests are handled under Email and support, including its separate 90-days-after-closure retention period. TestFlight invitations and Apple-controlled records are separate and are not erased by the registration expiry.

Testing through TestFlight

If you test Platterday through TestFlight, Apple automatically collects crash logs and app-usage information and shares information about the beta with us as the application provider. This automatic sharing is part of TestFlight and cannot be switched off while participating. The information Apple makes available can include install and session counts, crashes and crash logs, build/version, device model and a device identifier, operating system and language. If you submit beta feedback, Apple also makes your comments, any submitted screenshots and technical context such as app uptime, connection details, battery level and available disk space available to us.

TestFlight information is not necessarily anonymous. Your invitation email address and a name used in an email invitation may be visible to us. When you join only through a public link, Apple does not show us your invitation name or email address, but you can choose to include an email address with feedback. Public-link participation does not mean Apple receives no identifying information, or that all device and report information visible to us is anonymous.

We use beta reports for troubleshooting and technical reliability, including investigating failures and reproducing reported problems. We also use beta usage information and general evaluation feedback for evaluating beta features, planning improvements and measuring the beta audience. These uses do not include advertising, marketing, sale or cross-app tracking.

We view reports in Apple’s tools by default and do not currently retain separate Apple report exports. If troubleshooting requires a separate copy, we keep only a necessary private redacted copy and delete it within 90 days after the issue is resolved. This limited copying practice is for troubleshooting, not analytics. We remove feedback that Apple’s tools allow us to delete when handling a verified privacy request. These practices do not promise removal of every Apple-controlled record or a 90-day expiry for reports held within Apple’s services.

Apple currently states that it retains beta feedback for one year and may retain crash-log and usage information until bugs are resolved. Apple’s practices govern its own records and may change; see Apple’s TestFlight & Privacy notice. You can stop participating through TestFlight’s Stop Testing option. We cannot promise that stopping testing removes previously collected reports. For requests about TestFlight information available to us, email support@platterday.com. For Apple-controlled account and other records, use Apple’s privacy channels.
